It's very close to that special day for Mom's. This morning our school invited all the moms to eat a free breakfast with the kids. It was quite a throw back to the lunch line days. The trays, the hair nets and the chocolate milk, YUM! The lunch tables were definitely made for smaller hineys than mine. It was fun though.
So, I have been thinking about mom stuff all day. What it means to have a mom and the influence that a mom plays in a child's life. I had the privilege of having 2 moms in this life. The one who carried me for the long 9 months and the one who has helped mold and shape me into the person I am today. I never understood the protective pregnancy fears until I was faced with a positive pregnany test myself. There was such joy, but there was a lot of fear. Fear in a primal animal kinda way. Fear/Love that faces giants for a tiny soul. I'm so thankful that my birth mother loved me in this way. That she grew me into a healthy almost 8 pound baby girl and went through labor pains to see me into this world. I'm thankful that she thoughtfully named me and changed every smelly surprise I gave her. But the most important thing she gave me was AWAY. Not in heart but in distance. Happy Mothers Day to my birth mother! I love you:)
When I was 7, I was given a new mom. The years ahead were difficult but through it all even through blinded teenage rage, there was love. Love that protected and prayed for a child that was not her own. It wasnt until I was pregnant with my first child that I knew how much I needed this mom. She was the one who would help me walk this unknown road. To not only teach me her very own lamaz techniques but to do it with me while I was laboring. I wish we could have gotten that on tape. Since that time she has been my friend, confidant, counselor, pray warrior and most of all my MOM. Thank you for sticking it out with me and loving me when it was hard. I must say we fought the fight and won. Happy Mothers Day! I love you
Speaking of moms, for todays may photo a day, it just so happened to be a kitchen. Kitchens and moms go together like peanut butter and jelly. They are family uniters and smell heavenly. I have this framed saying on my counter as a reminder that kitchens are a place for families to gather, eat good food and love each other all the while.
Happy Mothers Day to all the beautiful moms in this world. Its a hard job but its so worth it! Jamie

Photo a day in May ~ A favorite word
Have you ever thought about what your favorite word was? This May photo a day thing is really making me think to much. LOL! I have a long list of favorite words and really had a hard time narrowing it down to one. My mind started rambling off words that invoked a feeling, a favorite persons name, a meaningful statement to my life. Here is just a few.
Jesus
David( hubby's name)
Marriage
Mother
Children and their names (Judianna and Abram)
Family
Faith
Friendship
Purpose
Truth
and soooooooooooooo many more. But one word kept coming around and standing out. Loved!
Wanting to be loved is a universal desire. It has no color barriers. It has no gender. It springs forth from birth. That warm nestle as a baby, the loving look of a proud parent, a realationship that turns into a soul mate. The feeling of acceptance from a close friend. The love of a Savior, who died for us.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
As I look at this journey of a life, I can say that my wanting to be loved has never swayed far from top on the priority list. It has effected every decision. Even some bad ones. I read a quote that pretty much sums it up.
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn. Is to love and be loved in return." Natalie Cole
In closing, I'll just say this, I hope that your are feeling loved today. Jamie

Many Instagrams & DIY furniture babies
Hello world, its a lovely day here in New Mexico. I planted a plum tree this morning. Can't wait to start enjoying some of its fruit.
So I'm way behind on my instagram pics for May photo a day. I got stumped on the day that called for fun. You wouldn't think that fun would be such a hard word to capture. Then I got busy outside planting tons of plants. Roses and such. De-Weeding the yard really is the hardest part though. Guess I should have thought about that before I bought a house with over a 1/2 an acre. It's a beautiful house and the area is perfect, so I really do feel blessed.
Yesterday I took a break from the yard and did something I have been meaning to do for about a year now. I'm going to confess something very personal right now so please dont judge. I AM A FURNITURE HOARDER. There I said it. First step to recovery. LOL! Is it just me or does our furniture say something about us. A well worn couch cushion. A ornate piece of furniture that displays all the fancies. Is it modern, traditional or vintage? My furniture say a lot about me or atleast I think it does. As I say this I think about how many vintage piece I own or all the times I hagled the price down. Does that say I'm old and cheap. Ouch:) Anyway, I have been hoarding some pieces I found at my favorite antique store with the intent to paint them. After many hours of research as to how I would tackle the job I decided for time sake that I would spray paint them. I ran across a blog that gave me to courage to spray away,
Thanks Brooke for your help:)
So without further ado, This proud mama introduces her very first spray painted furniture baby
Isn't she cute!
Here is a before and the products that I used.
I am so pleased with how this turned out and excited to take on the next piece of furniture. I'm thinking my bedroom furniture sure would look good in white:)

Skyline and something I wore today
Skyline~ What do you think of when you see that word? For me its where the earth meets the sky. So yesterday I spent many hours running around trying to catch the best angles for this photo. It was not easy. I had almost given up and then decided I'd try once more before the sun went down. I climbed to the highest point in our backyard and tried to capture the last bit of light thru the trees. Skyline, my interpretation at least. I love how the leaves on the trees look like butterflies:)
Something I wore today~ This is the most important thing I wear and actual gets the least attention. Its not that I don't love it, treasure it really. It's just been on me for so long it's like second skin. It's my beautiful wedding ring! Well today is your day you pretty thing. Shine bright! Jamie:)

Vintage Drive~
I am stoked to have a new prop for my photo shoot today. I hired my 10 yr old photographer and borrowed my hubbys new ride for the shots. A 1941 Chevy pickup makes this vintage drive real nice. I got this dress from a local thrift store . I'm sure I'm the only one crazy enough to buy it. Its bold to say the least. Bright blue, red, yellow and green help to complete this color wheel of a dress. Oh and I can't forget the stripes and polka dots. I'm thinking the dress is 80's. I added a green belt and my red pin up high heels. Take a peek~
The pick up is blue and so is most of the dress so I thought they would be the perfect combo but after playing around on picnik, I decided that the black in white was more authentic.
Happy St. Patrick's Day~ Jamie
